Dr. Daniel McGibney

Dr. Daniel McGibney is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice at the University of Miami Herbert Business School, where he teaches analytics and data science at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. His teaching spans applied statistics, regression analysis, machine learning, and data-driven decision making, with a particular emphasis on practical, business-oriented applications. He has taught applied linear regression to students in the MSBA, MBA, MST, and MAcc programs and actively mentors graduate capstone projects in analytics, collaborating with organizations such as Deloitte, Visa, Carnival, Citi, and Experian.

Dr. McGibney currently serves as Co-Director of the MSBA program. Prior to joining Miami Herbert, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the College of William & Mary, where he taught and conducted research in statistics, analytics, and machine learning. He holds a Ph.D. in Systems Science and Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as master's degrees in engineering and mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. His industry experience includes roles in operations research, engineering, and quantitative modeling at Northrop Grumman and NooterEriksen.
